Thanks to mapblast we were able to find this "highpoint" just 6.5 miles north of downtown Wilmington at the intersection of Ebright Street and Ramblewood Drive, near the entrance to a trailer park. While the radio tower and metal way-side sign are easy to locate, the USGS marker is hidden in the grassy field directly across the street from the sign. After a few pictures we departed this highpoint in search of lunch at a nearby shopping mall. Ebright Azimuth derives its name from Delawarians James and Grant Ebright, who owned the property when it was identified by the USGS in 1933 as the highpoint. |
